I always could see a beautiful tree
Ever since I could first learn to see
From every window, the tree I could see
Adorning my world view, sheltering me
Tall and handsome and grand it looked
Not home, mainstay of our life it looked
Shade and fruits and ample cheer
With the Tree around we had nothing to fear
Stories of life we would always hear
Under its shade from far and near
The tree one could see from far and wide
Home was known by it, from all the sides
Proud as I was of this great Godly Gift
Who could imagine a cruel destiny's shift
One night it was standing tall and here
Morning it vanished to simply disappear
The tree was our roots, our home, our life
Destiny seemed to stab with it's very cruel knife
As I looked up to complain, God smiled at me
"It has served you all these years, now I need the tree!"
