The other day in this forum we rued the decline of research centres and even the pharmaceutical
business entities, as viewed through the eyes of the pundits of commerce, who seemed to have
sufficient access to influence the decision making powers that be, as elaborated by Dr Bansi Lal.
And it set me thinking about a parallel from perspective of astrology and look for some answers.....May I
also usher you in ?
Research, Invention, freedom, space, science , computers, original out-of-box thinking, magic, occult,
making the impossible possible and more are all hallmarks of planet Uranus which is the true ruler of the
zodiac sign of Aquarius...
The primary motivation of an Aquarian is pursuit of truth.This could be objective truth of science or
subjective truth of social reformer, moral do-gooder or political crusader.
Aquarians are interested in tomorrow not yesterday. They believe in progress and above all they believe
in power of Man's mind to surmount the difficulties of environment. The Aquarian motto is clearly
"Mind over Matter"
All persons pursuing research, in any field, are likely to have this planet in their horoscopes in prominent
places from ascendant or the rising sign ( the first house of the kundali) or Sun and/or moon in their
birth charts.... which gives them the above qualities predominantly, albeit in varying degrees, and they
stand out as unconventional, non traditional, unpredictable.... with certain eccentricity just like the orbit

But rue we may not, I surmised, as Uranus is here to stay as always, inspite of difficulties which is a part
of its destiny. It is not looking at the King or working for the king but for the Mankind.
And Aquarians can pursue their targets with immense labour required without ever getting easily
frustrated. Look at Marie Curie.
And as we know we are already in the Aquarian age now from the year 2000 to 4000. Research,
computers, innovations, space travel are already showing signs of an upper hand.
The value of research can hardly be emphasised or better elucidated when we talk of plethora of new
vaccines against corona virus being churned out in record time the world over...and their impact in
saving mankind.
