The Climb

I had started climbing
With innocence of child
And had the distinct feeling
Of purity of mind

The ascent was high, I realized
The terrain was very wild
And very soon I perceived
My approach was very mild

Looking around at others
I felt the world was different
I had started emulating others
Forgetting I could be different

Unknowingly I had turned
To the passions of power
Till the time I discovered
This very game of tower

In my pursuit of the targets
I had really strayed so far
That I had become a midget
For my team mates who were afar

I could only see them though the glasses
Their feelings not clear to me
My short hands couldn’t beacon the masses
Their voices did not reach me

My ego stopped me from going down
And surely they couldn’t come up
That’s when help came pouring down
When RTC phoned up

In our emblem then I perceived
The tower and the bridge
New ideas I then received
Which were so far in the freeze

Gandhi did it and so could we
So what if there is some stress?
The team too echoed “so could we?”
The child in one started afresh

Hand in hand then the children climbed
Inching towards the summit
Soon you’ll hear the words echoed
“We’ve done it! We’ve done it! We’ve done it!”

I thank the company profusely
For all the times and time
Today I take a commitment
To repay it back in time

To you friends a big “Thank You”
As without you I couldn’t have done it
For only knowledge and no Wisdom
May not reach one to the summit
